Description: The circular nave of the chapel of Saint Mary Magdalene at Ludlow Castle is very unusual. It is only one of a few round churches that still survive in the country, and was built to imitate the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. During the 16th century, a gallery and bridge was inserted which linked the Great Chamber Block to the chapel. This provided a covered walk way and an upper seating area for the nobles of the castle.
