Description: The Great Western Railway took over from the original Severn Valley Railway Company in the 1870's. This section of the Great Western Railway was never particularly successful and usually only 4 passenger trains ran on the track per day. Agricultural and coal traffic from Highley was the main source of revenue for the line.
