Effigy of King Henry the Fourth, Battlefield Church

Date: 2003

Description: The Battle of Shrewsbury was fought on the evening of 21 July 1403 between an army led by the Lancastrian King, Henry IV, and a rebel army led by members of the Percy family. An effigy of King Henry the Fourth can be seen here on the east wall of Battlefield Church. He is shown dressed in armour and ready for battle.
