Date: 2003
Description: The limestone escarpment of Wenlock Edge is thickly wooded and would have been for centuries as it is largely too steep for agriculture. There is plenty of evidence of the activities of people, such as banks, tracks and charcoal hearths. Much of the woodland was traditionally managed as Hazel or Lime coppice with standard trees of Ash and Oak. Photographed by National Trust, Shropshire.
